I have to admit that the Samsung ad took me a minute, and I can’t say that I care much for the one at the pool.

This is really unbelievable. In fact, I’m still having a hard time convincing myself it’s real.
It’s an animation done with stop motion paintings on walls in the street.
I can’t even imagine the kind of patience & determination that it took.

I saw it. I went at midnight to see the first possible showing because I love the franchise and the characters that much. Up until this point, it’s been some of the greatest adventure storytelling we’ve seen, and probably the movie franchise that I hold most dear (even more than Star Wars).
But I am betrayed.
Let’s just say, first of all, that the one big question was answered: “Is Harrison Ford too old to play Indy again?” The answer: absolutely not. Harrison was great. He proved himself more than capable. It was everyone behind the camera that was not.
So that makes the sting all the more painful. It COULD have been great. Indy still SHOULD have worked, but they jumped the shark. They Lucas-ed it up.
My feelings can best be described with a lyric:
My blood runs cold
My memories have just been sold
My angel is a centerfold
My angel is a centerfold
Today, I saw the most disturbing thing I’ve seen in a long time.
I watched my neighbors as their 2-year-old almost died in their arms.
Please, please, if you’re a parent, don’t let your young kids into a hot tub. My neighbors did, and the boy’s temperature shot up so high he began seizing, stopped breathing for an insanely long time, turned blue and went limp.
I will never be able to get that image out of my head. I thought he was dead.
I’m actually having trouble sleeping because of it (okay, so I was already an insomniac, but it is keeping me up).
Thankfully, the rescue team was faster than I thought possible (I was the one who had to call 911, and I sincerely thought that it was too late) and the baby’s okay (with a bit of help from our friend Randy Sanders’ dad, one of the first to respond), but without them, he surely wouldn’t be.
So hug your kids a little tighter today, and keep them away from hot tubs.
I’m going to go watch Noah sleep.

This is a straight act of theft (I generally try to only post things that I’ve stumbled upon myself), but someone else here in the “Bling” building found this and it was just too good not to show everyone.
On a side note: I really plan to start writing about things that are a bit more about me, but I’m having trouble getting over one little obstacle: I can’t imagine anyone else caring that much about what I’m doing on a daily basis.
